autopano-sift software package provides Automated control point extraction for panorama generation, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install autopano-sift
autopano-sift is installed in your system.
Make ensure the autopano-sift package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep autopano-sift *
You will get with autopano-sift package name, version, architecture and description in a table
